Urban Voices: 51 Poems from 51 American Poets

Edited by Brinkman/Kreiter-Foronda

Edited by Joyce Brinkman and Carolyn Kreiter-Foronda, Urban Voices offers previously published and unpublished poems representing an array of innovative and traditional voices. We expected these poems to reveal both common themes and unique characteristics found in the broad scope of America's urban landscape. We also expected the book to highlight the diverse voices of America's strong chorus of poets. Most of the writers included are current or past state laureates. Also represented are two esteemed U.S. Poets Laureate, Ted Kooser and Billy Collins, as well as poets recommended to us for their association with large urban centers.
